Hasegawa 1/72 Spitfire Mk. IX - by Craig Sargent - Auckland, New Zealand

This is the Hasegawa 1/72 Spitfire Mk. IX, I built using the long out of print Cooper Details Spitfire Cockpit set. I did not use the Cooper Details control column, because it got lost or damaged or something, hence having to resort to the kit one. The model had all gun bulges sanded off the wings, wing panel lines corrected, wheel wells increased to correct depth and detailed and new gun port fairings turned from stock. The model represents Ezer Weizman’s IXc (re-winged with e type wings after a crash) as it appeared in 1955 – the last Israeli Spitfire, which is still flying today.
